RN - Head Nurse - Medical/Surgical Observation

Role Overview The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a designated nursing unit. They utilize the nursing process to make critical decisions, ensuring safe, compassionate, and high-quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity. The role involves providing clinical leadership, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting continuous improvement in healthcare delivery. Key Responsibilities Interpret and review diagnostic data relevant to patient conditions.Collaborate with leadership to identify improvement opportunities and implement change.Guide and intervene during life-threatening situations.Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and patient outcomes.Implement innovative processes to enhance patient care.Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.Support lifelong learning and professional development.Communicate effectively with team members to ensure quality patient care.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 2 years experience in a related setting or specialty.RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.Computer literacy.
