About the Role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a nursing unit. They utilize the nursing process for clinical decision-making, ensuring safe, compassionate, and quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity. The role involves providing clinical leadership, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and supporting continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret diagnostic data related to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement departmental improvements.
• Guide during life-threatening situations and evaluate intervention effectiveness.
• Implement innovative processes to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.
• Support ongoing learning and professional development.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar setting or specialty area.
• RN licensure and BLS certification required within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
• Computer literacy is required; additional skills are preferred.
