About the role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations of a nursing unit, utilizing the nursing process to make informed decisions. They provide safe, compassionate, and quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve healthcare delivery. The role involves clinical leadership, mentoring, staff evaluations, and participation in initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review diagnostic data relevant to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement department improvements.
• Guide staff during life-threatening situations and evaluate intervention effectiveness.
• Implement innovative processes to improve patient outcomes.
• Engage in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, staffing, and performance evaluations.
• Support ongoing learning and professional development.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar setting or specialty area.
• RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
• Computer literacy required; additional certifications are advantageous.
