RN Float Pre-Op, PACU, and OR- Full-Time
About the role
A Float RN is needed to support various departments including Pre Op, OR, and PACU. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care, administering medications, and maintaining a sterile environment.
Responsibilities
- Assesses and develops nursing care plans for pre-operative patients
- Administers medications and treatments as per physician orders
- Carefully discharges pre-operative patients following facility policies
- Ensures the operating room is prepared for surgeries, checking equipment and supplies
- Communicates effectively with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals during procedures
- Maintains accurate documentation in the medical record and monitors patient safety
- Handles specimens appropriately and ensures proper room turnover
- Adheres to infection control and safety protocols
- Verifies surgical consent and completes necessary pre-operative work-ups
- Administers pre-operative sedation and ensures all medications are administered safely
- Maintains supplies and cleanliness in the work environment
- Reports and labels any equipment malfunctions
Requirements
The ideal candidate must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, hold a current RN license, and possess American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
Qualifications
Strong hands-on skills, excellent communication, and organizational abilities are essential. Must be able to handle a high volume of tasks, interact professionally with colleagues, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Skills
Knowledge of medical terminology, inventory control, and Microsoft Office products are required. Proficiency in performing data entry and equipment/supply tracking is also necessary.
