Patient Care

Affirms the assessment of assigned patients by gathering pertinent patient health information. Develops an individualized plan of care aimed at achieving desired outcomes, and implements this plan. Monitors patient progress towards these outcomes and adjusts the plan as necessary. Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Assists with procedures and transports patients as needed, adhering to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Educational Development

Engages in creating and sustaining a learning environment that supports evidence-based practice and research. Focuses on personal development, interacting professionally and collegially with peers and students. Works collaboratively with colleagues and other healthcare providers, participating in in-service and educational seminars. Mentors and educates colleagues and students.

Compliance and Safety

Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety, as well as all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies. Maintains a safe, high-quality, and cost-effective work environment. Reports any safety-related incidents promptly through the Midas/RDE tool and attends all safety-related training programs. Performs work safely and monitors the work environment for potential safety issues, ensuring others are also performing work safely.

Qualifications

• For RNs hired on or after 7/1/2016: Must have graduated from a BSN program within 6 years of hire into an RN position.
• Existing Staff RNs: Not mandated to have a BSN, but encouraged to pursue one.
• Active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or valid, participating compact license.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NIHSS certification within 30 days of hire.
