Responsibilities
- Affirms the mission of Northern Arizona Healthcare by coordinating care for patients and their families.
- Provides direct care, patient and family education, and discharge planning.
- Follows the nursing process (assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) to deliver care.
- Leads and mentors ancillary personnel, serves as a preceptor, and participates in the healthcare team.
- Adheres to the ANA Scope of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and specialty standards.
- Assesses patient needs and conditions, identifies outcomes, and develops individualized care plans.
- Evaluates patient progress and updates care plans as needed.
- Maintains a sterile field during care, follows infection control protocols, and collaborates with medical staff.
- Supports patient experience by providing safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and assists with procedures and transportation.
Qualifications
- Holds an active, unrestricted Arizona RN license or a valid, participating compact license.
- Has completed a BSN program within 6 years of hiring into an RN position (for RNs hired on or after 7/1/2016).
- Is certified in BLS, ACLS, and CNOR (preferred), and holds PALS certification (preferred).
- Keeps certifications and licenses up-to-date and valid.
- Completes required job-specific training and company mandatory modules.
- Maintains accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
- Reports safety-related incidents promptly and attends safety training programs.
- Performs work safely and monitors the work environment for safety issues.
- Obtains and maintains appropriate clinical competencies for assigned roles.
