RN-First Assistant - OR - Full Time (11am-9:30pm)

Position Details: Mercy Hospital Washington, Operating Room – First Assistant. Full-Time, 40 hrs/week (4 days/10 hours). Shift: 11:00am-9:30pm with limited call requirements.

About the Role

The Operating Room RN – First Assistant utilizes the nursing process to deliver exceptional patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. This role includes coordinating patient care in collaboration with other departments, ensuring patient rights and confidentiality, providing leadership and evaluation of other caregivers, and embodying Mercy’s mission, values, and guiding principles.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care
• Maintain professional accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
• Perform duties in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards

Requirements

• Current RN Temporary Permit or RN License in the State of Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of intraoperative experience as both scrub and circulating nurse (3+ years preferred)
• BLS/ACLS – required within 1 year of hire
• CNOR & RN-First Assistant certification required within 1 year

Qualifications

• Preferred Certifications: CNOR, CRNFA
• BSN preferred
