About the Role

Join Baylor Scott & White - Lake Pointe Rowlett as a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, a Level 3 trauma center, Chest Pain accredited center, and stroke receiving center. The unit averages 100 patients per day and handles around 20-30 EMS ambulances daily. Patient populations include pediatric, adult, and geriatric, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5. The department has 20 beds and operates on full-time night shifts.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lake Pointe in Rowlett, TX, is a community-based hospital offering the benefits of an urban medical center. Licensed for 176 beds, the facility includes medical-surgical units, an intensive care unit, Labor & Delivery, New Family Unit, Antepartum, Neonatal Intensive Care, Surgical Services, Cardiac Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and the Emergency Department. The hospital holds multiple designations, including Level III Trauma, Chest Pain Accreditation, Primary Stroke Accreditation, Maternal, and Level III NICU. Nursing is on a journey toward Pathways to Excellence and will seek Magnet designation upon completion.

The facility has a large footprint of outpatient services, including physical medicine, wound care, sleep center, imaging, and two free-standing Emergency Departments, serving communities such as Rowlett, Forney, and Wylie.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
  • Adhere to evidence-based practices and participate in continuous professional development.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire.
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire.
