About the role
The professional nurse at Jefferson Health uses the nursing process to address the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of diverse patients. They collaborate with patients, their family/designated care partners, and other staff to deliver patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Interacts with co-workers, patients, their family/designated care partner(s), and other staff in accordance with Jefferson’s values.
- Utilizes evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and patients’ preferences and cultural beliefs and values to deliver optimal healthcare.
- Works with patients and their family/designated care partner(s) to identify learning needs and priorities, and educates them about their condition, treatments, and recovery.
- Administers medications and prescribes drugs, ensuring patient safety and adherence to treatment plans.
- Develops and implements discharge plans, coordinating follow-up care as needed.
- Affirms patients' personal preferences, priorities, and needs, and respects their cultural beliefs and values.
- Fosters an inclusive environment and demonstrates leadership skills in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Maintains ongoing professional growth and actively participates in hospital and practice setting committees.
- Provides feedback and incorporates it into practice, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Two years of med/surg/tele nursing experience or float/resource nursing experience.
- BLS & ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- RN license from the State of New Jersey.
- Preferred: BSN or completion of BSN or appropriate advanced degree within 3 years of hire.
