About the role
The professional nurse at Jefferson Health uses the nursing process to address the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of diverse patients. Responsibilities
- Interacts with co-workers, patients, and their designated care partners in a way that respects and collaborates with each individual.
- Integrates evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and patients' preferences and cultural beliefs to deliver high-quality care.
- Works with patients and their designated care partners to identify learning needs and educates them about their health and treatment plans.
- Minimizes risks by following established nursing practices and protocols, and by using information technology to support ethical decision-making.
- Maintains an environment of belonging and inclusion, demonstrating skills in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Participates in hospital and practice setting committees, including safety and quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, and acts as a preceptor for new staff members.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and designated care partners, respecting their preferences and cultural backgrounds.
Requirements
A graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required. Experience in Med/Surg/Tele nursing or float/resource nursing is preferred, with at least two years of relevant experience. A BSN or completion of a BSN program within three years of hire is preferred.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of patient-and-family-centered care principles.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity.

- Ability to assess and treat patients' ailments and injuries.
- Experience in medication administration and prescription.
- Discharge planning and coordination skills.
- Documentation of patient health information.
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Pay
$45.77 to $65.23 hourly.
