About the role
The professional nurse at Jefferson Health uses the nursing process to address the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of diverse patients. They collaborate with patients, their family/designated care partners, and other staff to deliver patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Interacts with co-workers, patients, and their designated care partners to ensure respectful and effective care.
- Utilizes evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and patients' preferences and cultural beliefs to deliver optimal healthcare.
- Works with patients and their designated care partners to identify learning needs and priorities, and educates them about their health and treatment plans.
- Minimizes risks by adhering to established nursing practices and protocols, and continuously improves care processes using data and improvement methods.
- Fosters open communication and teamwork within nursing and interdisciplinary teams, promoting quality patient care.
- Creates an inclusive environment and demonstrates leadership in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development, and acts as a preceptor to other staff members.
- Participates in hospital and practice-based committees, focusing on safety, quality improvement, and other relevant initiatives.
- Seeks and incorporates feedback to enhance practice and contributes to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- At least two years of med/surg/tele nursing experience or float/resource nursing experience.
- BLS & ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- RN license from the State of New Jersey.
- A BSN or completion of a BSN or appropriate advanced degree within three years of hire is preferred.
