RN - Diagnostic Imaging - Per Diem

Hourly pay range: $36.00 - $55.80. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Schedule

• Per diem/PRN, hours as needed
• Monday-Friday, 0700-1530 to 0830-1700
• Rotating weekends
• On-call (weekends only)
• Holidays (on-call only)

Responsibilities

• Render professional nursing care to patients under general supervision, in accordance with physician’s treatment plans to provide quality patient care
• Assess patients’ condition, recognize deviations, administer prescribed drugs, provide treatments, observe patients’ progress, record pertinent observations, and report reactions to drugs and treatments
• Take follow-up action as needed
• Develop or assist in developing patient treatment plans
• Assist physicians with cases, procedures, or examinations
• Function as a team player to fulfill unit goals
• Deliver and ensure customer service in all aspects of the job, being attentive to eye contact, facial/body expressions, and tone of voice
• Explain procedures to patients, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher required
• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required
• Critical care experience preferred
• Relatively high level of analytical ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data, solve problems, and design complex clinical or administrative systems and programs
• Relatively high level of communication skills to lead, teach, persuade, or interact effectively in difficult situations

Skills

• Ability to walk or stand for an hour or more at a time
• Lift or carry objects weighing more than 20 pounds
• Push or pull laundry or supply carts, gurneys, or wheelchairs
• Lift and position patients
• Proofread and check documents for errors
• Use a keyboard to enter, retrieve, or transform words or data
• Closely examine specimens, images, or reports
