PeaceHealth is seeking a RN Clinic - Primary Care for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $46.27 – $69.41. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. *** Hiring Bonus may be available! ***
Job Summary
Provides professional nursing care to patients in the clinic/outpatient setting in compliance with professional practice standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.
Details of the position
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care needs.
- This includes assessing patient’s condition, triaging patient phone calls, counseling patients, providing patient education, taking patient histories, administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds and monitoring patient vital signs.
- Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
- Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participates in the development of and maintains established policies, procedures and objectives.
- Participates in the development and implementation of quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention programs.
- Demonstrates competence in making professional judgements pertaining to patient care.
- May screen and prioritize patient telephone or walk in inquiries concerning their medical care, prescription refills and insurance authorizations and referrals.
- Evaluates and responds appropriately to urgent or emergency situations.
- Maintains a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.

- Accredited School of Nursing Required.
- 1 year Preferred: experience as a registered nurse

- Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs
- Required: Demonstrated knowledge of Medicare, JCAHO, DNV & HCFA regulations pertaining to ambulatory care

- Lifting Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures
- Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
- Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
- Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
- Mental/Visual Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
