RN - Acute Care - Ortho Surgical - Weekend Night - Full-Time

About the role

This position is for a registered nurse specializing in acute care for orthopedic surgery patients, primarily working full-time during weekend nights. The role involves delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Performing the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using evidence-based practices and critical thinking.
• Providing culturally competent, relationship-based care tailored to patient demographics and needs.
• Partnering with patients and families through effective communication and education, focusing on patient goals.
• Ensuring safe, high-quality care documentation and promoting a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
• Participating in performance improvement, supporting research, and fostering teamwork and shared governance.
• Serving as a preceptor or mentor to foster workforce development.
• Advocating for evidence-based practice and participating in data collection and clinical research.
• Supporting resource planning and protocol development to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Bachelors preferred.
• Current RN license (single-state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification required upon hire.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with direct patient care preferred.
