Responsibilities
- Completes scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and other work assigned by the EIC or EOW.
- Makes periodic rounds of the riverboat to verify that machinery and equipment are functioning properly. Specifically checks the condition of fire and safety equipment.
- Takes corrective action to remedy observed discrepancies.
- Answers and remedies maintenance calls received during the watch.
- Notifies the EIC of system malfunctions in accordance with Standing Orders.
- Fulfills emergency response duties assigned to the RBT in Station Bills.
- Successfully completes Riverboat Technician Qualification Program.
- Successfully completes an accredited course in basic firefighting. This requirement can be met by completing either (a) USCG-approved course or (b) training by the Shreveport Fire Department.
- Successfully completes CPR, First Responder, and Automated Electronic Defibrillator (AED) certification.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must have valid driver's license.
- Must be 21 years of age.
Requirements

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate “with” occasional extreme, noise protection provided.
- Must be able to hear and understand security radio transmissions during normal casino noise.
- Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
