Engineering Technician

About the role

The Level 1/Level 2/Level 3 Engineering Technician position at Fisher Industries supports the design and production of heavy equipment used in the mining and aggregate industry. Reporting to the Engineering Department Team Lead, the role involves preparing and updating detailed schematics/drawings, supporting the team with data collection and hands-on work on hydraulic and electrical systems, and providing assistance to the Purchasing Department.

Responsibilities

• Provide support on design work
• Produce schematic drawings assigned by the department Team Lead
• Update bill of materials for shop production as needed
• Support the preparation of material lists for the Purchasing Department
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Design preferred
• Strong engineering and mechanical aptitude
• Experience with Auto Cad and/or SolidWorks
• Experience with SolidWorks Electrical a plus
• Basic skills in word processor and spreadsheet programs

Prior Experience

A strong background in engineering and mechanical fields, including experience with Auto Cad and SolidWorks, is preferred. Basic proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is also necessary.

Physical Demands

The Engineering Technician must be able to sit, walk, talk, hear, use hands for keyboard, handle, and feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, crawl, reach, and stretch. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
