Engineering Technician

About the role

Rocket Test is looking for a Test Technician that wants to work at one of the most exciting jobs at L3Harris Technologies. The Test Technician classifications perform a variety of technical functions related to production test, test article assembly, and rocket and instrumentation test.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced Test Technicians with preparation and set up of testing site for rocket motor testing.
• Under direct guidance from a Test Engineer, load the test motor into the Test Stand.
• Instrument the test motor per the test plan under direct supervision of engineering team. Solder experience and/or J-STD Solder Certificate a plus.
• Absorb moderate weight.
• Move into Conditioning Chambers at all hours of day or night as required.
• Learn to set and program Conditioning Chamber temperature per Test Plan.
• Outdoor work will be in both summer and winter conditions.
• Ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Requirements

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Preferred Additional Skills:
• Experience with PLC programming
• Experience with Military Standard Testing (Mil STD 810)
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Formal technical education/training
• Existing certifications/training to operate Forklift is a plus.
