You’ll also help keep the shopping space clean, organized, and inviting so every customer feels welcome the moment they walk in.
Responsibilities
- Begin each day by reviewing sales goals, learning about new arrivals, top-selling items, and current trends/promotions.
- Engage customers with a warm welcome, eye contact, and friendly conversations to build relationships and drive repeat visits.
- Maintain a shoppable space by recovering the sales floor and fitting rooms, updating signs/pricing, and supporting merchandise moves.
- Drive sales by acquiring new customers through credit accounts and sharing loyalty program benefits.
- Meet daily sales goals and performance targets through customer engagement and smart selling behaviors.
- End interactions by thanking customers, often walking them to the exit and using their name.
- Collaborate with teammates to support one another and improve service excellence.
- Adapt to changing priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
Requirements
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors in English.
- Comfortable reading and understanding employment policies and safety rules/procedures.
- Enjoy meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information.
- Resourceful, adaptable, and eager to start new ventures.
- Proficient with electronic devices, including handheld equipment, cash registers, and processing transactions.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
- Standing for at least two consecutive hours.
- Lifting at least 25 lbs.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Reaching, including above eye level.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Schedule
- Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week.
- Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week.
- All schedules include weekend shifts as a requirement.
- Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
