Restroom Staff
Seasonal position within the Parks & Recreation Department. Hours of operation are 7:00am - 3:30pm; all scheduled shifts will occur within that window. Employment is contingent on passing a background check.
About the role
Perform manual, skilled, and unskilled labor in the cleaning, maintenance, and repair of grounds and facilities at City parks, public rights-of-way, and a wide array of City buildings and infrastructure. Requires working knowledge of construction and landscape techniques, general cleaning and janitorial methods, and safe use of hand and power tools. Must maintain collaborative relationships with officials, employees, organizations, and the public. Safe vehicle operation and an acceptable driving record are required.
The work environment includes indoor and outdoor conditions, exposure to weather, wet/humid environments, dust, odors, gases, mechanical hazards, and vehicle operation. Work schedule may include days, evenings, and weekends as required.
Responsibilities
- Perform general park and maintenance facility restroom cleaning, including opening/lock-up, trash removal, and cleaning toilets, urinals, mirrors, and floors
- Assist other work crews as needed, such as hand mowing
- Report job completion status to supervisor daily
- Drive a City vehicle to assigned restroom sites throughout the City
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Two to five years of experience may be required; specialized certifications, construction, or supervisory experience may also be required
- Valid Idaho driver’s license
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, climb ladders, and work at heights or in confined spaces
- Hand/finger dexterity to handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms
- Operate job-related equipment and drive a vehicle
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform essential functions and interact with the public
