About the role
The Greenleigh River Oaks is an upcoming urban oasis in Houston, blending natural beauty with city charm. We are seeking Hosts/Hostesses who are passionate about hospitality and eager to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a friendly, professional first impression.
- Manage reservations and waitlists using the restaurant reservation system while maintaining accurate seating assignments.
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus in a courteous and welcoming manner.
- Cook up to coordinate table seating to maximize efficiency while maintaining balanced server sections and an exceptional guest experience.
- Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and support staff regarding table availability, special requests, and guest needs.
- Answer telephone calls, respond to guest inquiries, and assist with reservation requests in a professional manner.
- Monitor the restaurant entrance, lobby, and waiting areas to ensure they remain clean, organized, and inviting.
- Absorb guest departures by thanking guests and inviting them to return.
- Support restaurant operations by assisting with light side work, menu maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous host, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for guest service.
- Friendly, professional, and polished appearance and demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and solution-oriented during busy service periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout scheduled shifts.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
