JOB SUMMARY

Sycamores is a contracted provider with The City of Los Angeles, Mayor's Office of Community Safety, to operate the CIRCLE program, which addresses non-urgent LAPD calls related to unhoused individuals. The CIRCLE program deploys trained teams to create positive outcomes for unhoused individuals through rapport-building and connections to services, and provides LAPD officers with more time for traditional law enforcement efforts.

About the role

The CIRCLE Response Team Supervisor is partnered with and oversees the Response Team Outreach Advocate. Together, they provide outreach and engagement to persons in need within the San Fernando Valley, respond to referrals from three Los Angeles Police Departments (Van Nuys, Mission, and Foothill), and utilize the agency vehicle to respond to community members in need. They provide on-scene coaching and support to the Outreach Advocate and consumers regarding community resources, crisis intervention, and available services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide stabilization interventions
  • Affirm client voice and choice, self-determination, and decision-making in treatment, rehabilitation, and support services
  • Respond to referrals from three Los Angeles Police Departments (Van Nuys, Mission, and Foothill)
  • Utilize the agency vehicle to respond to a community member in need
  • Provide on-scene coaching and support to the Outreach Advocate and consumers regarding community resources, crisis intervention, and available services

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a similar field and at least one year of job-related experience working with persons experiencing homelessness or very vulnerable populations, preferably those living with mental illness and/or substance addictions; OR
  • An associate’s degree in social work, psychology, or a similar field and at least two years of job-related experience working with persons experiencing homelessness or very vulnerable populations, preferably those living with mental illness and/or substance addictions; OR
  • A certification in substance abuse counseling by the California Association for Alcohol and Drug Educators (CAADE) or the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) or Certified Peer Support Specialist or Certified Psychiatric Technician, or other mental health professional qualification agreed to by MOCS and at least one year of job-related experience working with PEH or very vulnerable populations, preferably those living with mental illness and/or substance addictions

Qualifications

  • Self-identified experience with the process of recovery from a mental illness or substance use disorder, either as a consumer of these services or as the parent, caregiver, or family member of a consumer
  • Minimum of two (2) years of continuous sobriety prior to the date of employment if the lived experience includes a history of substance use, and ongoing sobriety must be maintained throughout the duration of employment
  • One year of managerial experience preferred

  • Ability to use agency vehicles with appropriate insurance for all transporting consumers

Benefits

Starting Pay Range: $70,304 - $72,800 per year for Full-Time employment (starting pay will be based on previous work experience and educational background.)

Monday - Friday 10:00pm to 6:00am
