Respiratory Therapist - Weekender Nights

Role: Respiratory Therapist RRT - Weekender Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive respiratory care, including therapies, diagnostics, and patient education across all ages. Administer medical gases, medications, and advanced respiratory treatments, perform blood gas analysis, pulmonary function tests, and maintain equipment. Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes, document care, and guide Respiratory Therapy Techs. Participate in continuing education and adhere to hospital policies. May perform duties of the Director in their absence and float to other departments as needed. Qualifications & Skills Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy programRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry eligibleIllinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license within 6 monthsCurrent CPR certification; ACLS, NRP, PALS within 24 monthsKnowledge of blood gas analysis, cardiopulmonary physiology, and patient assessment Additional Requirements: Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays; excellent communication skills; commitment to patient-centered care.
