About the role
The Respiratory Therapist provides critical respiratory care by applying clinical skills and knowledge gained through education and experience. A registered RT demonstrates competency by passing NBRC exams and earning the RRT credential.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition and develop personalized care plans
- Implement and evaluate care strategies
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health management
- Serve as a clinical resource and provide leadership within the care team
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support healthcare delivery enhancements
Qualifications & Skills
- Current state licensure and RRT credential per NBRC standards
- Recent clinical respiratory care experience in hospital, home care, or skilled nursing settings
- Successful completion of hospital and departmental orientation
- Basic computer skills with Windows and Microsoft Office
- Certification in BLS within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
