About the role
Respiratory Therapist providing patient assessments, developing care plans, and delivering respiratory therapies across multiple hospital locations.
Responsibilities
- Perform and document thorough patient assessments and establish care plans.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Administer routine therapies such as aerosolized medications, oxygen, and artificial airway care.
- Manage mechanical ventilators and monitor patient status with non-invasive tools.
- Provide patient and family education on disease management.
- Assist in patient transport and acute airway management during emergencies.
- Support invasive procedures, including bronchoscopy and line placement.
- Collect arterial blood gases and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a shift coordinator and preceptor for students and new staff.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of a Specialty Training Program.
- Minimum of 2 years related experience.
- Ability to float between hospital locations and work day or night shifts.
- Strong communication, clinical, and emergency response skills.
