About the role
Responsible for performing patient assessments and delivering general and critical care respiratory procedures, including specialized care for newborns in Labor and Delivery. Manages blood gas analysis, interprets results, maintains respiratory equipment, and provides education to patients and families in both adult and neonatal settings.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences
- Experience in neonatal respiratory care or successful completion of department-specific orientation with competency validation
- Certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners
- Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
- Active practice and maintenance of competencies in adult and neonatal respiratory care
Key Duties
- Conduct patient assessments and deliver respiratory treatments
- Provide neonatal respiratory care, including in Labor and Delivery
- Perform blood gas analysis and interpret results
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment
- Educate patients and families about respiratory care and equipment
