About the Role
Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) position in a general medical-surgical department.
Responsibilities
- Act as a patient advocate by integrating education into care plans.
- Prioritize tasks based on patient acuity and ensure timely completion of medical interventions.
- Administer and evaluate respiratory therapies, including ABGs and bronchial hygiene.
- Perform patient transfers and provide routine and advanced respiratory care.
- Demonstrate independence in respiratory practices, including ventilator management, airway management, blood gas interpretation, and response to critical situations such as code blue.
- Accurately document care following hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2-year/Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Current RCP licensure in the appropriate state.
