We are hiring a 0.8 FTE (32 hours/week) day-shift position in our Respiratory Services Outpatient Clinic. Shifts vary week to week between 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM and 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Administer nitrous oxide sedation in the outpatient clinic setting, ensuring safe and effective delivery.
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient level of sedation; adjust delivery as appropriate based on patient response.
  • Perform pulmonary function tests (PFTs) in accordance with established protocols and ensure accurate results.
  • Conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs) and recognize/report abnormal findings.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory and diagnostic equipment to ensure proper function.
  • Collaborate with providers and care team to support safe, coordinated patient care.
  • Adhere to safety, regulatory, and infection control standards in all clinical activities.
  • Provide respiratory care to patients within a family-focused setting.
  • Actively participate in the respiratory department and interdisciplinary work at Gillette, including representing the department on committees or teams.
  • Attend outpatient rounds as needed and at least 75% of staff meetings.
  • Present education to the department after hospital-supported seminars and conferences.
  • Demonstrate competency in required technology tools and systems.
  • Perform tasks with accuracy, efficiency, and completeness while reducing waste through proactive time management.
  • Follow established procedures and policies, including protecting the confidentiality of personal health information.
  • Revise existing policies and develop new ones to cover emerging practices.
  • Abide by HIPAA standards for confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Travel between St. Paul Main Campus and Phalen, St. Paul Clinic locations; reliable transportation required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Respiratory Care education program and certified through NBRC as CRT.
  • Registered through NBRC as RRT (new graduates must obtain RRT within 6 months of hire).
  • Licensed with the state of Minnesota.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or equivalent acceptable organization, with requirement to obtain AHA BLS within one month of hire).
  • Current American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or must be obtained within 12 months of hire (required within 3 months for this role).
  • Pediatric experience preferred.

Pay

Hourly wage ranges from $35.57 to $53.36, with a median wage of $44.47. Pay is dependent on relevant work experience, education, certification, licensure, and internal equity.
