About the role
Supervise day-to-day activities of assigned staff while providing clinical expertise in all aspects of Respiratory Care. This position blends clinical duties (up to 30%) with supervisory and operational responsibilities, focusing on team development, quality care, cost-effectiveness, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide the daily activities of assigned Respiratory Care staff.
- Provide clinical expertise to promote growth and development of healthcare team members.
- Enhance quality, cost-effective care through interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Support departmental and organizational goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (required; must be obtained within 2 years if not already held).
- Master of Science (preferred).
- Experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with advanced knowledge from additional training and certifications.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Valid State of Connecticut Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active membership in the American Association of Respiratory Care.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Asthma Educator Certification (AE-C).
- Pulmonary Disease Educator certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification.
- Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) Specialist certification.
