Respiratory Care Student providing patient evaluation and care within student scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments
• Assesses patient responses
• Monitors and documents conditions
• Provides patient education
• May respond to medical emergencies
• Performs additional duties as assigned, working safely and alertly

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program
• No prior experience required
• Must hold current BLS certification
• Must hold relevant state-specific respiratory permits or acknowledgments

Skills

• Effective communication
• Ability to monitor and record patient data
• Respond promptly to emergencies
• Perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, and moving patients
• Good visual and auditory perception necessary

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, lifting, reaching, and data entry. Occasional patient lifting and movement, with alertness to safety protocols.
