Respiratory Care Student

About the role

Provides patient evaluation and respiratory therapy care within student scope, including administering medications, assessing responses, monitoring conditions, and educating patients. May respond to emergencies and perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Administer treatments and medications under supervision.
• Assess patient responses and monitor conditions.
• Record and communicate patient status.
• Educate patients about diseases, medications, and treatments.
• Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses.
• Maintain safety and alertness at all times.

Qualifications & Skills

• Enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program.
• No prior experience required.
• Certifications include BLS (AHA) and Respiratory Educator Permit or provisional licenses, depending on the state.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform various movements; good vision, hearing, and sense of smell.

• Administer treatments, monitor patient responses, communicate effectively, respond to emergencies, and provide education within a safe, alert manner.
