About the Role

This position focuses on NICU and Labor and Delivery (L&D). Performs therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures and provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • California Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Certification.
  • NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification within 180 days of hire.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support.

Experience

  • Experience with intubation of infants strongly preferred.
  • Acute care clinical experience in Respiratory Care, training in arterial puncture and blood gas analysis.
  • Previous experience in performing EKG is desired.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, chemistry, and physics.
  • Knowledge of bedside pulmonary function testing; mechanics and equipment.
  • Knowledge of arterial puncture and blood gas analysis, equipment, and quality control.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards and College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation standards.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment and take appropriate actions in volatile situations.
  • Must be able to understand, read, and write the English language.

Schedule

  • Full Time, Nights.
  • 12-hour shifts.
  • Variable days of the week, including every other weekend.
  • 36 hours per week.

Pay

Pay Range is $55.83 to $68.07 per hour. The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
