Respiratory Care Practitioner II (NICU)
About the Role
The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) provides safe, effective, and evidence-based respiratory care services to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in accordance with physician orders, departmental policies, and regulatory standards. The RCP II functions as an essential member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, contributing to quality patient outcomes through collaboration, professional judgment, and adherence to organizational values.
Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory care services to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
- Manage ventilators and oxygen delivery systems for adult and pediatric patients.
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient response to respiratory therapies.
- Perform emergency response procedures, including CPR and airway management support.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) issued by the State of California.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
- Neonatal intubation experience (preferred).
- Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
Qualifications
- Experience with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations preferred.
- Knowledge of respiratory care principles and practices.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Pay
$36.50 - $54.76 per hour. The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change. Salary offers are determined by the candidate’s relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
