Respiratory Care Practitioner
About the role
The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for delivering skilled respiratory care modalities and interventions to designated patient populations with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities. This position requires specialized training and experience to perform independent, professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care.
Responsibilities

- Perform independent, professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care.
- Establish therapy and treatment objectives based on the age and needs of the patient.
- Review care based on the age and needs of the patient.
Requirements
- Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Training program
- Certified (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the State of Washington
- Registry eligibility notice to sit for RRT exam from NBRC required
- Advanced cardiac life support credential required within 90 days of hire
- Depending on age of the population served: ACLS, NRP, PALS
- Health Care Provider level CPR certification
- Minimum one (1) year of acute care experience in the field of respiratory therapy and critical care as CRT preferred
Qualifications
- Specialized training and experience to perform independent, professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care.
- Ability to operate independently, under limited supervision.
- Internal contacts include patient care staff and management.
- External contacts include patients, families, physicians, outside health care providers, and other organizations.
Skills
- Skilled in delivering respiratory care modalities and interventions.
- Proficient in performing ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Capable of establishing therapy and treatment objectives based on patient needs.
- Skilled in clinical evaluation of care.

Pay
$33.52 - $48.23 USD per hour, with pay influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
