Respiratory Care Practitioner
Position Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner 2 at Asante is an Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner with additional credentialing and competencies as outlined in the Respiratory Critical Care Orientation, Respiratory Care Services Competency Evaluation, and Respiratory Care Services’ Career Ladder, in one or more of the following: Adult Critical Care, Pediatric Care, Neonatal Care, Pulmonary Function Technology, Team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory care duties in the adult intensive care units.
- Attend to patients in the Emergency Room if applicable.
- Provide pediatric floor care if applicable.
- Enable the practitioner to manage blood gas labs, as assigned for specific job roles.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy or respiratory related sciences, preferred.
Licensure/Certifications: RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) must be obtained within 6 months of hire. An individual licensed prior to January 1, 2018, who obtained licensure with a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential through the NBRC, is not required to obtain the RRT credential.
RT-P: Respiratory Therapist licensed by Oregon Health Licensing Office (HLO) required upon start. Temp license may be considered and permanent license must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start.
NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Program is required upon start.
