About the Role
Yellowstone Club is a private residential community in Big Sky, Montana, offering Members the world’s only private ski and golf community. Our employees make the Yellowstone Club experience come alive by providing the highest level of guest service and ensuring no detail is overlooked. The Residential Shopper role is seasonal (November – April) and focuses on delivering world-class service through timely and accurate procurement of goods and thoughtful delivery of all shopping orders.
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding service in a friendly environment, greeting and acknowledging every Member and guest while maintaining exceptional service standards and product knowledge.
- Guarantee total Member satisfaction by displaying hospitality and professionalism, ensuring all transactions are handled legally and ethically.
- Apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure environment; report accidents or emergencies immediately.
- Foster a positive working relationship with all Yellowstone Club team members.
- Take ownership of Member and guest requests, following specific instructions throughout the shopping process.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make quick decisions aligned with Member expectations and business policies.
- Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication via email, phone, and in-person with Members, guests, vendors, and teammates.
- Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Provide exceptional service during interactions in private residences and virtual meetings.
- Work a flexible schedule, including late nights, overtime, and extra days during peak season.
- Follow detailed shopping lists and collaborate closely with the Residential Shopping Manager, Assistant Manager, and other Shoppers.
- Create aesthetic and intuitive grocery and product setups in private residences.
- Drive safely for several hours per day, making multiple stops at vendors in Bozeman and Big Sky, while adhering to Yellowstone Club, Montana State, and local regulations.
- Maintain an organized and clean vehicle in compliance with Residential Services Vehicle Policies and safety standards.
- Accommodate last-minute requests, returns, and vendor sourcing issues.
- Meet departmental productivity, organization, and consistency standards.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude in all interactions with Members, guests, vendors, retailers, and teammates.
- Assist with inventory, organization, and procurement of goods for Pioneer Mercantile and backstock in on-site offices and Member homes.
- Perform all duties with minimal oversight, maintaining Member and guest privacy at all times.
- Project a favorable image of Yellowstone Club and maintain a clean, neat appearance.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with all levels of staff, from supervisors to VPs.
- Perform all duties in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with Club policies and service standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/job-related coursework.
- Experience in a fast-paced customer service role.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License with at least 3 years of driving experience; must be at least 19 years old.
- Proficiency with basic technology, including smartphones, computers, and email; experience with Smartsheet and/or Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Ability to speak and write clearly and effectively.
- Basic math skills for performing calculations.
- Strong reasoning ability to solve problems or escalate issues when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited university.
- 1–3 years of experience in a customer service, front-facing hospitality (hotels, clubs, resorts, restaurants), or retail/procurement role.
Work Environment
The role is primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment but may require working outside in extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, or inclement weather as needed.
Physical Demands
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, or operate a computer.
- Frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Constantly stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Constantly use hands and fingers to handle, organize, or lift items.
- Constantly use vision and alertness for tasks requiring accuracy, attention to detail, driving, hazard inspection, and machinery operation.
- Maintain safety standards and compliance with vehicle operation policies and state laws.
