Residential Mental Health Therapist

About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and licensed Residential Mental Health Therapist who is passionate about working with adolescents and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional behavioral healthcare. Responsibilities
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to adolescent residents.
- Complete psychosocial, behavioral, and discharge planning assessments within required timeframes.
- Develop and implement individualized behavioral health treatment plans as part of the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing, case management, education, and rehabilitation staff to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and family conferences to support treatment progress and discharge planning.
- Identify barriers to successful discharge and proactively communicate recommendations to the care team.
- Educate families on behavioral strategies and transition planning.
- Coach and educate staff on behavioral interventions, therapeutic communication, and de-escalation techniques.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in program development initiatives focused on improving clinical outcomes and treatment quality.
- Represent Nexus professionally within the community through educational outreach and collaboration with referral partners.
- Support a therapeutic, trauma-informed environment that promotes resident safety, dignity, and growth.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field required.
- Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience working with adolescents.
- Experience developing and implementing behavioral intervention plans.
- Previous experience in a residential treatment center or behavioral health setting preferred.
Qualifications
- Current Texas License in one of the following: LPC, LPCA, LCSW, LMSW.
- CPR/BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Current TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter.
