Residential Therapist

Get to know Thompson! Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services, and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. About the role

As a Residential Therapist, you will work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. Your schedule may vary based on the clinical needs of the youth receiving services, including flexibility to work rotating weekends.

A typical day will include providing individual and group therapy, completing Comprehensive Clinical Assessments, attending Child & Family Team meetings, and developing and monitoring person-centered plans for youth in our residential facility.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a human services-related field
• Associate or provisional license required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience
• Availability to work rotating weekends
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, excellent written and oral communication skills
• Provisional or fully licensed to practice therapy in North Carolina (depending on specific program)
• Valid Driver’s License and meet credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards
• Must pass a drug screening test and an extensive background check
