Residential Care Worker (High School Diploma OK)

About the role

An Adult Residential Support Professional provides compassionate, trauma-informed care in a residential treatment setting for adult women recovering from substance use disorders, including mothers with infants.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents' recovery, offering encouragement and structure
  • Monitor and document resident well-being and progress
  • Administer or oversee medication management per policies
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as meals, housekeeping, and laundry
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and crises
  • Help residents achieve treatment goals and participate in educational or life skills activities
  • Transport residents to appointments and community activities
  • Collect urine specimens and conduct breathalyzer tests when required
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in human services, behavioral health, or residential care preferred
  • Coursework in social work, psychology, or related fields is a plus
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • DHS 83 training preferred but can be completed after hiring
