About the role

River Valley Therapeutic Residence is a secure residential facility in Essex, Vermont, offering a range of therapeutic spaces and services for adults with severe mental illness. The Residential Care Manager plays a crucial role in the person-centered treatment of residents, coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate resident admissions and discharges
  • Create and implement treatment plans and therapeutic interventions
  • Work with outside providers and families to coordinate care
  • Support residents with community integration through individual and group outings
  • Explore and facilitate financial and disability benefits
  • Track and report on treatment outcomes
  • Facilitate therapeutic and skill-building groups and activities

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a Mental Health related field AND either one (1) year or more of professional experience working with individuals with serious mental illness OR a one-year field placement in a mental health clinic, psychiatric hospital, or Psychiatric Residential Program
  • OR Bachelor's degree in a Mental Health related field AND three (3) years of professional experience working with individuals with serious mental illness

Qualifications

  • Licensed in mental health related field (preferred)

SkillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment options
