About the role

The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) will coordinate and oversee community development activities under the Beyond Homes key initiatives: Adult Capacity Building, Housing Retention, Healthy Living, Green Living, Community Engagement, and light case management services to residents as needed at affordable housing developments located in Los Angeles County.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee community development activities under the Beyond Homes key initiatives.
  • Engage residents with each other and their greater communities, promoting wellness and reducing isolation.
  • Provide avenues to social service agencies and intervene when individuals are at risk of losing their housing.
  • Oversee youth programs including out-of-school time programs that focus on social and emotional learning (SEL).
  • Oversee programs designed to reduce isolation and focus on aging in place at senior sites.
  • Work in collaboration with service providers to ensure best practices in permanent supportive housing for special needs residents or formerly homeless population.

Requirements

  • Equivalent Education, Experiences, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; and two years related experience in social work, human services case management, and/or related field required.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain effective, cooperative-working relationships with community-based organizations, public and private organizations.
  • Ability to organize and oversee meetings, activities and events and have an ability to effectively network in the community.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • PREFERRED: Bilingual literacy in English and Spanish.
  • Exceptional public speaking abilities and facilitation skills.
  • Availability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
  • Intermediate computer skills with programs such as Excel, Microsoft Word, E-mail and the Internet.
  • Ability to travel within Abode Communities’ service area.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
