Resident Life & Engagement Director

About the role

Vanguard Landing is seeking a Resident Life & Engagement Director to lead the development of meaningful activities, daily programming, and engagement opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise our Life Skills Educators, Art, and Recreation Managers
• Develop and oversee activity calendars, special events, and daily programming
• Create opportunities that promote independence, socialization, wellness, and community inclusion
• Help residents discover interests, build skills, and experience meaningful daily routines
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure activities align with resident goals and support plans
• Maintain safe, organized, and engaging activity spaces throughout campus

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs
• Natural leader who can inspire and supervise a team
• Creative, energetic, and passionate about building engaging programs
• Believes in dignity, choice, inclusion, and person-centered support
• Enjoys event planning, recreation, education, arts, and community engagement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience creating, leading, and supervising programs for individuals with disabilities
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
