About the Role
Provincial Senior Living is seeking a Director of Celebrations to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing resident services, including planning and coordinating opportunities that promote health, wellbeing, engagement, and growth for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Plans, schedules, and conducts lifestyle programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual opportunities for residents.
- Plans appropriate programs for holidays and special events.
- Recruits and develops additional resources for services to residents.
- Initiates correspondence, including public relations communications with outside organizations, service groups, and volunteers.
- Advises and motivates residents regarding individual and group activities based on their interests and growth opportunities.
- Prepares, organizes, and distributes a calendar of events after obtaining approval from the Executive Director.
- Develops and prints the community newsletter.
- Provides leadership for the lifestyle program and coordinates the community library.
- Purchases and maintains equipment and supplies within budgetary guidelines.
- Prepares a preliminary draft of the Celebrations Operating Budget.
- Organizes and supervises a volunteer staff.
- Addresses resident groups and other groups on subjects of common interest.
- Maintains a database and prepares reports on resident quality assurance assessments, participation, and satisfaction.
- Supervises Coordinators across multiple levels of service in the retirement community.
- Participates in community in-services and ensures compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations for independent living.
- Develops, facilitates, and analyzes resident surveys to align activities with resident interests.
- Plans, coordinates, and facilitates mixed group activities.
- Develops and facilitates daily activity displays on bulletin boards and kiosks.
- Maintains a robust public relations program in support of activities and community relations.
- Implements and facilitates a volunteer recognition program.
- Drives company vehicles as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the Celebrations (Activities) Department, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, and rewarding/disciplining employees, in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Gerontology, Social Work, or Adult Education.
- Three to five years of related experience.
- Two years of supervisory/management experience.
- Must be at least 21+ years old.
