Description

Unmatched Comp Time Policy: Hours worked over 40 in a week can be reimbursed as additional pay at an equivalent hourly rate or banked as additional PTO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and be able to read and understand design and specifications of aspects related to highways, freeways, interchanges, streets, intersections, and multiuse trails
  • Oversee and lead roadway construction projects and perform various tasks associated with construction management, including:
    • working with contractors to identify design issues, field design changes, verify measurements of quantities and pay applications, RFI’s, Project schedule
    • review and accept submittals for material certifications
    • working closely with field inspectors to ensure successful project delivery
  • Work with project managers on client relations, stakeholder coordination, and sub-consultant management
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish, with attention to quality, budget, and schedule
  • Interface with coworkers to achieve shared success
  • Availability to work onsite days, nights and weekends while projects are ongoing
  • Obtain certifications related to construction engineering management
  • Monitoring construction contracts
  • Managing personnel and budget

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Licensed EIT required; Nevada PE License preferred
  • MSHA training is required; Horrocks will train candidates that meet qualifications
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams
  • Solid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria
  • Proficiency using Autodesk and/or Bentley civil design software preferred
  • Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is preferred
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project assignment
