Core Responsibilities
- Interpret and read design and specifications related to highways, freeways, interchanges, streets, intersections, and multiuse trails.
- Oversee and lead roadway construction projects, performing tasks such as identifying design issues, verifying measurements, reviewing and accepting submittals, and managing project schedules.
- Work closely with field inspectors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with project managers on client relations, stakeholder coordination, and sub-consultant management.
- Interface with coworkers to achieve shared success.
- Be available to work onsite days, nights, and weekends while projects are ongoing.
- Obtain and maintain relevant certifications.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Licensed EIT required; Nevada PE License preferred
- MSHA training is required; Horrocks will train candidates that meet qualifications
- Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams
- Solid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria
- Proficiency using Autodesk and/or Bentley civil design software preferred
- Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is preferred
- Solid written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project assignment
