Resident Engineer

Core Responsibilities

• Interpret and read design and specifications related to highways, freeways, interchanges, streets, intersections, and multiuse trails.
• Oversee and lead roadway construction projects, performing tasks such as identifying design issues, verifying measurements, reviewing and accepting submittals, and managing project schedules.
• Work closely with field inspectors to ensure successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with project managers on client relations, stakeholder coordination, and sub-consultant management.
• Interface with coworkers to achieve shared success.
• Be available to work onsite days, nights, and weekends while projects are ongoing.
• Obtain and maintain relevant certifications.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Licensed EIT required; Nevada PE License preferred
• MSHA training is required; Horrocks will train candidates that meet qualifications
• Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams
• Solid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria
• Proficiency using Autodesk and/or Bentley civil design software preferred
• Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is preferred
• Solid written and oral communication skills
• Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with MS Office applications
• A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project assignment
