Job Summary
Alaska Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Resident Care Manager Nurse to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day activities performed by nursing assistants. The position involves developing a plan of care for residents, arranging and coordinating all services, and ensuring residents' health, safety, and general wellbeing.
Essential Functions
- Supervise nursing care to residents.
- Comply with state and Federal Regulations.
- Develop and review resident’s medical and nursing treatments to ensure they are in accordance with the resident’s care plan and wishes.
- Implement and revise the MDS, including the development of RAPs and Triggers.
- Perform daily rounds to ensure nursing personnel are performing their work assignments.
- Review nurses’ notes to ensure they are informative and descriptive of the nursing care being provided and the resident’s response to care and wishes.
- Participate in reviews of discharge plans and prepare reports for the Care Plan Committee as directed.
- Delegate, train, evaluate, and support RN, LPN, and CNA personnel.
- Provide direct nursing care as necessary and assist the Director of Nursing as needed.
- Make recommendations for new or changes in procedures, policies, methods, education, reference material, and general nursing practices to ensure the highest level of quality patient care is given.
Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current WA RN licensure in good standing.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in supervisory/management positions, including experience with budgets, staff development, training, and scheduling.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a supervisor in a healthcare setting.
- Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities.
- Working knowledge of MDS process, state and federal surveys, and CMS.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records and computer documentation systems.
