Resident Care Coordinator/Infection Prevention and Control Lead RCC/IPAC (Long Term Care)

About the role

Caressant Care is seeking a Resident Care Coordinator/Infection Prevention and Control (RCC/IPAC) Lead to join their team in Lindsay, Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement infection prevention and control programs to ensure a safe living environment for residents.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to promote resident health and wellness through infection prevention strategies.
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of the facility to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions.
• Provide training and education to staff on infection prevention and control practices.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Current Ontario Registered Practical Nurse Certificate of Competence.
• Completion of an IPAC Canada-endorsed Infection Prevention and Control post-secondary course or equivalent, or willingness to take the course.
• Certificate in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) required or willing to take the course.
• Demonstrated leadership, teaching, critical thinking and administrative ability.
• Working knowledge of the Compliance Management Program and Quality Improvement tools and techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and computer).
• Familiar with regulations of WHMIS and able to complete the WHMIS test.

Pay

The salary range is $76,000 - $85,000 based on experience and qualifications.
