Job Summary

You will provide essential management and oversight for graduate medical education (GME) programs, ensuring continued accreditation and operational excellence. You will serve as the administrative leader, partnering with program directors to maintain compliance and institutional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage program operations, including scheduling, curriculum support, and adherence to accreditation requirements.
  • Engage in administrative, financial, and logistical planning to ensure seamless program function and trainee support.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of GME accreditation policies, strong organizational skills, and a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Effectively manage diverse programmatic activities and communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Affords assistance in overseeing the residency program in collaboration with the program director, including screening candidate applications, making travel arrangements, verifying application data and eligibility based on academic standing, and responding to questions regarding departmental policies.
  • Initiates and prepares all documents for signature of the Program Director, as well as generates correspondence concerning the residency program.
  • Ensures all FMR or GSR applications are processed in compliance with deadlines.
  • Ensures prospective resident interview evaluations are completed within deadlines; analyzes, on a daily basis, residency packages in various stages of completion, and assures all residents and subspecialty department evaluations are completed and processed on time.
  • Provides a daily analysis of application status to Program Director.
  • Serves as an expert resource/liaison for residents; coordinates/schedules meetings/clerkships, between department heads, hospital staff physicians, resident physicians, medical students, consultant physicians, representatives of professional organizations, medical and osteopathic schools, credentialing coordinator, and Family Medicine or General Surgery Residency Coordinators of other training sites.

Job Requirements

  • Four or more years of progressively responsible related experience in a healthcare setting/clinic that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
  • PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or business administration and 1 year of experience in a lead capacity.
