Research Associate Position, Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Division - Beers Lab

Responsibilities

  • Scientific research in the field of pulmonary medicine with a focus on experimental design and implementation.
  • Preparation of scientific papers.
  • Grants writing and grants proposals.
  • Characterize alveolar type II biology and dysfunction in a model of pulmonary fibrosis.
  • Expertise in murine modeling of pulmonary fibrosis, as demonstrated by publication record.
  • Experience with bioinformatics, including the generation of samples, processing of raw data, and the production of publication quality visual representations.
  • Experience with flow cytometry and primary cell isolation from human lungs.
  • Translate novel epithelial and mesenchymal populations in mice to the relevant equivalent in human models.
  • Prepare manuscripts.
  • Mentor students.
  • Write grants.

Requirements

  • An M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellent qualifications in research.

Skills

  • Expertise in murine modeling of pulmonary fibrosis.
  • Experience with bioinformatics, including sample generation, data processing, and visual representation creation.
  • Experience with flow cytometry and primary cell isolation from human lungs.

Benefits

  • The appointment is initially for one (1) year and can be renewed based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years).
