Research Associate in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania specializing in Electrophysiology and Neuromodulation in Animal Models

About the role

The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years).

Requirements

• Expertise in the specific area of coding, EEG and signals analysis, as well as electrophysiology in animal models and neuromodulation
• Ph.D. or equivalent degree
• Preferred applicant should have 3–5 years of experience in these areas of expertise

Responsibilities

• Working with the Principal Investigator on designing, carrying out, and analyzing complex electrophysiological experiments in the area of cognition, TBI and PTE
• Developing independence in the areas of experimental design and analysis
• Preparing grants and manuscripts
