Responsibilities
- Working with the principal investigator to lead translational research in rodent and porcine models of nerve and spinal cord injury
- Developing neuroprotective therapeutics, engineered tissues, and implantable devices
- Managing interdisciplinary teams and coordinating with CROs
- Supporting grant submissions, intellectual property filings, and early-stage translational activities
- Disseminating findings through peer-reviewed publications and national presentations
- Co-teaching academic entrepreneurship courses for graduate and professional students
Qualifications
- Expertise in the specific area of peripheral nerve injury, spinal cord injury, and regenerative technologies, with emphasis on clinically relevant outcome measures in both small and large animal models
- Experience in neural tissue biofabrication, including biomaterial characterization, in vitro modeling, therapeutic screening, and in vivo implantation
- Prior experience with commercialization, startup formation, or teaching in academic entrepreneurship is strongly preferred
- A Ph.D. or equivalent degree
